cedar desk (in progress)

aromatic cedar... MMM

I've been browsing around for the perfect desk for a while time now. After some time, I decided I'd be better off (and it would be more fun) if I made my own! I've selected an aromatic cedar for it's unique coloring and amazing smell. Macbeath Hardwood (located in Bayshore) has an impressive selection of wood from all over the world.

hairpin legs

I picked up some 3/8" cold-rolled steel round stock from Bayshore Metals, carefully measured them out, cut them to size, and bent them on a tube bender. I cut out custom brackets on a water jet and proceeded to MIG weld the plates and legs together. Voila! Hairpin legs ready to be mounted. To be continued..
